Shelia Lilly Legacy Fund
Shelia Lilly was born in Rockingham County and lived there her entire life. She did not grow up on a farm and was never an FFA member. Shelia started her career in the real estate business and earned her Certified General Real Estate Appraisal license. She developed a niche specializing in farm appraisals and truly enjoyed working with farmers. Shelia often said the best part of her career was getting to develop relationships with the great families she met while appraising farms.
Shelia and Scot Lilly married in 2006. Scot was very active in FFA and Young Farmers of Virginia. Shelia joined Young Farmers and truly found her calling in life. Shelia and Scot held multiple offices in Young Farmers including each of them serving as State President. Both enjoyed volunteering and helping with anything FFA or Young Farmers needed. Being active in both organizations was a central focus in their relationship.
Shelia truly lived her life to serve others – frequently putting other’s needs above her own. She especially loved giving her time and energy to anything that helped young people become involved in their school and community. Shelia also was a passionate advocate for agriculture through her profession and volunteer work.
The Shelia Lilly Memorial Scholarship was established by her family, friends and community when Shelia passed away from cancer in 2018.
